The Academy is entirely free today. The subscription is meant to carry it in the long run — what exactly it will contain is not decided yet. What already stands here is the road to it: choose a plan, see the total price, order.
How the founder price works
The founding member plan is a separate price, not a time-limited discount. That is a technical difference with a practical consequence: a running subscription is never moved to a new price by itself. Whoever joins at the founder price keeps paying it for as long as the subscription runs — even if the standard plans go up later. A coupon, by contrast, could expire.
If you cancel and sign up again later, the then-current plan applies. The founder price is attached to the running contract, not to the person.
Payment and security
Payment is handled by Stripe. The payment itself takes place on Stripe's pages, not here: your card details never reach TRONGO and are not stored by us anywhere. We only see that payment was made, the card brand and the last four digits — no more than is needed to show you what you are paying with.
Strong customer authentication (3-D Secure) required under PSD2 is handled by Stripe. Because the payment does not run on trongo.net, this also brings no third-party script and no additional cookie onto this page. What is stored is set out in the privacy policy.
If a payment fails
Then nothing bad happens at first. There is no immediate cut-off:
- We email you and say what went wrong.
- The payment is retried automatically several times over the following two weeks. If funds become available again, you need do nothing.
- Your access stays open for that entire time.
- Only afterwards are you moved back to the free content — moved back, not deleted. Your learning progress is on your device anyway and stays untouched.
Withdrawal and cancellation — two different things
Withdrawal means undoing the contract within fourteen days. Cancellation means ending the subscription at the end of the billing period. You are entitled to both, and both are possible online. The details including the model withdrawal form are at Right of Withdrawal, the contract terms in the terms, Part B.
In the order flow above you can expressly request that access starts immediately. If you do, you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (§ 18 para. 1 no. 11 FAGG). If you do not, you keep the full fourteen days — access then begins after the period ends. The choice is yours; both boxes are voluntary.
